YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GOOD AT PHOTOS.

You just have to show up as yourself.

Being in front of a camera can feel vulnerable. Maybe you don't know what to do with your hands. Maybe you're worried you'll look awkward. Maybe you love the idea of candid wedding photos but still want a few portraits that make you go dang... I look AMAZING!

That's where I come in.

As an Ontario wedding photographer, I combine documentary-style wedding photography with thoughtful direction, giving you the guidance you need without making your photos feel stiff or overly posed. I'll create space for the real moments to happen, help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and make sure you feel cared for from our first conversation to the moment you receive your gallery.

NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN ONTARIO

Your wedding photos don't have to be either completely posed or completely hands-off.

My documentary-style wedding photography combines natural, candid moments with guided portraits that still feel like you. I'll give you clear direction when you need it - talking you through movements, offering prompts, and helping you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera without making anything feel stiff or forced.

And when something real happens? I know when to step back and let the moment unfold.

The laugh that catches you off guard. The nerves before the ceremony. The quiet moments between the big ones. The little interactions that could never be recreated.

That's the balance I'm always looking for: beautiful, authentic wedding photography that feels true to who you are.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE

FROM “WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR HANDS?” TO “OH, WE'VE GOT THIS.”

BEFORE THE WEDDING

It starts with a conversation. We'll hop on a call, talk about your wedding plans, answer your questions and start building your photography timeline together - even if you don't have one yet.

Your engagement session is included in my wedding photography packages, and it's about more than getting some pretty photos. It's your chance to get comfortable in front of my camera, experience how I give direction, and figure out what feels natural for you as a couple.

Then, as your wedding gets closer, we'll check in again, finalize the details and make sure you feel completely prepared for your wedding day.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

You don't need to remember what we talked about months ago. You don't need to know where to stand.

I'll be there to guide you through your wedding portraits, keep family photos organized and moving, and help you feel comfortable throughout the day.

And then I'll step back and let you live it.

AFTER THE WEDDING

You'll receive photographs that don't just show you what your wedding looked like - they bring you back to how it felt.

The people you love. The ridiculous moments. The quiet ones. The way you looked at each other.

The whole thing.

You get to be present. I'll take care of the rest.

IRENE KOSTICHIN

HI, I'M IRENE.

I care a lot about photographs.
But I care even more about the people in them.

There's something incredibly vulnerable about having someone point a camera at you. You're trusting them to see you - really see you - and somehow turn those fleeting pieces of your life into wedding photographs you'll get to hold onto.

I don't take that lightly.

I'm the person who will help you build a wedding timeline when you have absolutely no idea where to start. I'll guide you through your wedding portraits, fix your hair, wrangle your family photos, tell you when you're doing great, and probably make you laugh somewhere along the way.

And then, when the real stuff happens, I'll get out of your way.

Because ultimately, I don't want you to look at your wedding photos and think, “Wow, we look like models.”

I want you to think:

“That's so us.”

I want you to recognize yourselves in every photograph - not a super polished version of yourselves, but the people you actually are together.

That's what I feel lucky enough to photograph.

I'm here to capture it with heart.

K&R

Creative bridal party portrait during a documentary-style Ontario wedding photography session

“Irene “The Goat” Kostichin was the PERFECT addition to our wedding day. From the moment we met Irene, she instantly understood the vision and vibe we were going for at our wedding. Not only were all of her photos amazing, but she also brought an amazing energy to the wedding itself that added to the experience exponentially. My friends and family all had only good things to say about Irene to me after the wedding as well. Will definitely be using her services again in the future and recommending her at any opportunity!!”

S&O

“Irene was awesome from start to finish! To begin, she’s incredibly personable and friendly. From our first conversation with her we already felt so comfortable and at ease with the wedding and photography process. Irene was awesome at providing help with everything from posing during photos to creative input. Irene is calming, understanding, and very very good at her work. By the end of our experience it felt like we’d gained a friend versus having hired a photographer for our wedding. We hope in the future to be able to use Irene again to capture more precious moments.”
